QUICK UPDATE!
WORK--

Almost done with everything except FREAKY FRIDAY strip! Layouts are done and I hope to be finished with pencils this weekend! Contract notes turned in this morning-- hope they still want me and are not laughing their asses off at this poor comic book person! Did I mention I was designing a tattoo for a friend and that's really tough work?

JOSIE--

Cute as all hell in her Halloween costume. Images will be posted on the holiday. She had carrots for the first time yesterday and carrotpoo'd this morning. Monkeycat sleeps in her bed. Monkeycat also has been pushing food off the counter (bread, treats) and feeding Orwell.

FOOD--

Sticking to new home budget and it's working well. Made best mashed potatoes ever-- mashies with a whole head of roasted garlic mixed in! Fall is here and cobbler still reigns supreme. We had apple cobbler this week... or as you frenchies say, >i/i<. Tonight Gloria is coming over to watch the deabates with us and I'll be making bratwurst and I dunno what else. G. is lactose-intolerant and allergic to cheese... we did pasta last time, so I'm extra-challenged in my kitchen tonight! What will I do??

JAMIE--

Is Nick Cave and I am:

you are Tom Waits!
Tom Waits... charismatic story-teller with a
penchant for freaky people and unusual
settings. You thrive on the concept of the
underdog coming out on top.

Which fucked-up genius composer are you?

***IMPORTANT!!!***

I registered to VOTE!! This is my first time voting. I did not in the last two elections because the first time I was denied registration due to my international status. The second time I felt deflated and let's be honest, I was too apathetic. NO MORE! I'm a real citizen and I'm going to really vote. Very exciting. I registered via declareyourself.com and found that a lot easier and moreinformative than Rock The Vote's interface/form thing.

If you haven't registered, GO!

If you live in NYC and haven't registered, GO! I think today is the last day!!

I don't know how I missed this... well, too late, but not for next time:

Vegan "Cheese" tastes great and melts!

Voting is cool.

Can't wait to see the babe in costume.

that vegan cheese looks yummy, i'll definitely give it a go sometime...

i was watching pbs the other day and thot of you-- charlie trotter was on whipping up some kind of amazing cauliflower soup from his new cookbook, RAW. i tried to look for the recipe, but i found some other ones instead... aside from the raw craze, they sound really delicious and mostly vegan too! http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2003/12/01/earlyshow/living/recipes/main586246.shtml

voting is cool. arguing politics with thick-headed relations is not. so many folks i know are at odds with their family... and no one who is voting for bush can tell me why he's 'the choice'. what has he done in the past four years that proves he's a good leader??

aaarrrgh.

Hi Christine!

I've been meaning to drop a note here.
I signed up for one of these journals about 2 months ago, and later remembered that your site's "News Wire" was an LJ in disguise.

That is cool that you have so many projects going.
I've designed a tattoo for a friend once, and it is really cool to see the results in person.
Good luck with all of it, and have fun.

I'd also like to thank you again for the time you spent in San Diego talking with me about my portfolio. I love getting feedback from pros I admire.

- Cheston

Hey Cheston!

Thanks for dropping by and leaving a really nice note.

Well, it's cool to have a bunch of projects, not so cool when you're starting to feel overwhelmed. I'm tackling a lot today, so hopefully I can breathe again.

No problem about the portfolio feedback-- I hope the comments and suggestions I made helped you. It's always nice to talk about work with other artists and help one another out, right?

Hope all is well with you!
